What's on the Path

The Drucker Management Path consists of three separate one-day sessions.

Workshop 1: Managing Oneself

This first workshop covers a number of Peter Drucker's key principles: building on strengths; managing your time; setting priorities, as well as what he called "posteriorities" (or deciding what not to do); making an effective decision; and the crafting of a Manager's Letter—a great tool to help every employee through the organization literally get on the same page with his or her boss.

Workshop 2: Managing My Team

This second workshop imparts Drucker's basic philosophy for aligning an organization from top to bottom—namely, Management by Objectives; a framework for focusing resources on your best opportunities; lessons on staffing and promotion; insights on effective communications; and fundamental concepts for designing measurements and controls.

Workshop 3: Managing for Opportunity

The third and final workshop covers Drucker's concept of planned abandonment; his seven sources of innovative opportunity; the do's and don'ts of entrepreneurship; and bringing in to the organization what Drucker called "the meaningful outside."
